Sticky Honey Garlic Ribs – Fall-Off-The-Bone Tender!

  • 2 lbs pork ribs (baby back or spare ribs)
  • ¼ cup honey
  • ¼ cup soy sauce
  • 3 tbsp brown sugar
  • 3 tbsp minced garlic
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar (or white vinegar)
  • 1 tsp sesame oil (optional)
  • 1 tsp cornstarch mixed with 2 tbsp water (slurry)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil

Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Ribs

  1. Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C).
  2. Season the ribs with salt and pepper on both sides. Wrap in foil and place on a baking sheet.
  3. Bake for 2.5–3 hours, or until tender. Alternatively, boil the ribs for 1 hour until soft.

Step 2: Make the Sauce

  1. Heat the vegetable oil in a saucepan over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant.
  2. Stir in honey, soy sauce, brown sugar, vinegar, and sesame oil. Simmer for 3–5 minutes.
  3. Add the cornstarch slurry and cook until the sauce thickens. Remove from heat.

Step 3: Glaze the Ribs

  1. Remove the cooked ribs from the oven or pot. Brush them generously with the honey garlic sauce.
  2. For a sticky caramelized finish, broil the ribs in the oven at high heat for 3–5 minutes or grill them over medium-high heat, turning frequently and basting with more sauce.

Step 4: Serve

  1. Transfer the ribs to a serving platter and drizzle with any remaining sauce.
  2. Garnish with sesame seeds or fresh herbs if desired.
