Decadent Chocolate Ganache Torte – A Luxurious Dessert for Chocolate Lovers

- Heat the heavy cream in a saucepan over medium heat until it begins to simmer. Do not let it boil.
- Pour the hot cream over the chopped dark chocolate in a heatproof bowl. Let sit for 2 minutes, then stir until smooth.
- Stir in the butter until melted and glossy. Set aside to cool slightly until it thickens but remains spreadable.
Step 3: Prepare the Filling
- In a medium bowl, beat the mascarpone cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until light and fluffy. Set aside.
Step 4: Assemble the Torte
- Place one cake layer on a serving platter or cake board. Spread a generous layer of mascarpone filling evenly over the top.
- Place the second cake layer on top and gently press down.
- Pour the slightly cooled ganache over the top of the cake, allowing it to drip down the sides. Use a spatula to spread it evenly for a smooth finish.
Step 5: Chill and Serve
- Refrigerate the assembled torte for at least 30 minutes to allow the ganache to set.
- Slice and serve chilled or at room temperature. Garnish with fresh berries, chocolate shavings, or a dusting of powdered sugar, if desired.
