Decadent Chocolate Ganache Torte – A Luxurious Dessert for Chocolate Lovers

For the Chocolate Cake:

  • 1 ¾ cups (220g) all-purpose flour
  • ¾ cup (90g) unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 ½ tsp baking powder
  • 1 ½ tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 cups (400g) granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup (240ml) buttermilk
  • ½ cup (120ml) vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup (240ml) boiling water

For the Ganache:

  • 8 oz (225g) dark chocolate, finely chopped
  • 1 cup (240ml) heavy cream
  • 2 tbsp (28g) unsalted butter

For the Filling:

  • 1 cup (240g) mascarpone cheese
  • ½ cup (60g) powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Cake

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line two 9-inch (23cm) round cake pans with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together the sugar, eggs, buttermilk, oil, and vanilla extract until smooth. Gradually combine the wet ingredients with the dry ingredients.
  4. Stir in the boiling water until the batter is smooth and slightly thin.
  5. Divide the batter evenly between the prepared pans. Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  6. Allow the cakes to cool in the pans for 10 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
